The Hula Tree: A live oak on Daufuskie Island, S.C., sports a skirt made of palmetto fronds, apparently the creation of a prankster. I was out looking for pictures with the students of Daufuskie Elementary when we found this tree, dressed as you see it (her?). They dubbed her the "Hula Tree." 1997 (Hula Tree)
