This set of pictures is from previous trips and from the short time I lived in Telluride, CO, in 1982.

This mountain, the most prominent in the Sangres viewed from our Westcliffe home, has become a muse to me. The weather comes and goes. The sun rises and sets, casting a glow on its often-snowcapped summit. That summit, at 13,450 feet, is shorter than a half-dozen nearby peaks. But Horn stands out, watching over our valley.

I began my photojournalism career in Oklahoma and Kansas, marrying a wonderful woman from Wichita. Over the pasts four decades, I've come to know and love the wide open spaces of the western prairie. These images aim to share some simple vignettes that begin to depict it.
