Atlantic bottlenose dolphins strand feed in a marsh creek of the May River, herding fish up on the mud bank, following them, eating them and then rolling back into the water. This learned behavior is unique to the Carolina and Georgia coasts. Scientists say some 500 dolphins are resident in the May River area, along with others who visit seasonally.
